Investment and Product Strategist (Equity)

Summary

The strategist will support the Equity business, acting as the bridge between the investment management and distribution teams. The candidate should be motivated, with a strong passion for capital markets, and be prepared to provide thoughtful commentary and analysis of markets, portfolio positioning and assist in new product development. The strategist will also serve as the product champion to our sales and marketing functions, assisting in the creation of marketing material, analyzing industry trends, as well as communicating our investment philosophy and process to internal and external clients. Key Responsibilities Include
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the equity market and our investment strategies
  • Provide insights into market and portfolio performance, authoring commentaries and assisting with thought leadership pieces
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and portfolio attribution of equity strategies
  • Communicate the equity platform’s investment philosophy and process, and review portfolio positioning and investment results with internal/external clients
  • Assist investment and marketing teams in creating best-in-class marketing materials, client review materials and RFP content for the equity strategies
  • Analyze industry trends, and product competitors
  • Coordinate projects across all functional teams supporting the equity business
  • 25%-50% travel to support due diligence meetings, roadshows, and prospect meetings providing topical market/product commentary and supporting the firm view.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree required, CFA/MBA designation or progress towards preferred
  • Highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Very strong analytical, communication and written skills 
  • Passion for capital markets
  • Works well under pressure with ability to meet specific deadlines and make decisions
  • Experience using Excel, Bloomberg, Factset, PowerPoint and ability to learn other investment software/analytics
